• We ensure that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all pupils.
• We ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups, this includes assessing and addressing the needs of socially disadvantaged pupils and of children with high mobility.
• Pupil premium funding and service family children premium will be allocated following a needs analysis which will identify priority needs. Allocation of funding and resources will vary according to those needs.

At St Mary’s Island School we currently allocate the funding in the following ways:
• Extra support through intervention programmes across the school: additional support from teaching assistants, English/maths support groups, reading support, catch-up programmes.
• Small focused teaching opportunities for pupils needing additional support in developing their core and basic skills: one-to-one work, self-esteem group work, social skills group.
• Providing extra resources and personnel to ensure adequate provision for children receiving pupil premium: in-school support to children and families, children’s well-being and confidence, art therapy, one-to-one counselling, parenting group.
• Payment for additional activities where needed: breakfast/after school club provision, sports club, music tuition, residential and day trips.
• Funding for a ZU3D group involving mums and dads or grandparents and their children working together on a video project.

Impact of Pupil Premium Grant and Service Family Children Premium allocation for 2014-2015
