History is a dynamic subject. Through drama stories and visits to historical sites our children are able to successfully learn about the periods and the lives of the past.

An enquiry-based approach underpins learning in this area enhancing the children’s understanding, curiosity and interest in all lessons. We encourage the children to ask insightful questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift argument and develop perspective and judgement.

The pupils are helped to understand the complexity of people’s lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships of different groups ensuring they link this to their own identities and the challenges of their time.
