Art & Design
Our curriculum equips our children with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design whilst engaging, inspiring and challenging them. As pupils progress, they are able to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of Art and Design. They should also know how Art and Design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation.
Pupils capture their individual ideas and the processes of their learning within their own Art journal, which travels with them throughout their school career. This journal showcases the children’s explorative learning when using different media, the development of new skills and the progression between each unit and year group.
